Just a quick update… Part Ⅱ
Thanks to Jeff’s help, I’ve been able to fix up the font spacing and add in a much better looking(in my opinion) font. Let me know what ya think!

Looking good.
i prefer the more narrow typeface, but this still looks good!
The reason I chose the wider font was mostly for readability and less strain on the eyes. While it probably wouldn’t be as bad playing it on an emulator due to zooming, it would be harder to read on actual GBA/DS hardware. If you click any of the images you’ll get the size as it would be displayed on GBA hardware.
Well at least I should be able to customize my own font which I can use using my method, I just wish all 3 games were ported to the DS, then I would come up with the easy to use NFTR files, even use an amount of characters that would be used in the game, but I am getting off topic again.
You most certainly could, though that might lead to some unintended side-effects. I don’t think it would be a problem if you’re going from the wider font to a more narrow one, but I’ve already noticed that the narrow font to wider one caused some of the lines to go beyond the end of the window since the width tables had to be changed. Not that this was a big problem, I just had to switch around the linebreaks on a few of the dialogue lines.
Well that is usually needed in testing the script, but as long it is not compressed, then it may work, and just add a tidbit, Taloons Great Adventure 2 even though uses uncompressed VWF format, it needs a change with the table file because it does not have an expanded ASCII section, but also too much empty character spaces in that factor, thus redoing the table file would be the best bet, but overall Lets hope this will get the translation completed, I just hope TGA 2 gets translated or use the script from the PS1 version after the table file is entirely reworked.
Oh man, I’ve been hoping for someone to translate this for ages! AWESOME
Dude, this looks GREAT!
Let me know if you need anything. Also, I know it’s WIP but you should replace that japanese open quote with a ‘:’.
ehy xvirus remember me? from the gbatemp forum? i was wondering if there was any news progress
Hey, nice to year from ya ^^ Things have been just been going a bit slowly lately due to school, but now that I’m on break I should be able to get more work done on it. I wouldn’t expect a patch yet though, as I totally forgot to put a copy of the rom with the new font on my laptop before traveling across the country *facepalm*. I’ll still be working on the translations alongside our new translator, tribalsushi.
As far as progress goes, we’ve been taking a wider approach to this one than the previous translations, with the other translators working on the dialogue while I work on items/magic/etc. This way, when the first patch is released, The story will be somewhat understandable(hopefully) while the game itself should be totally playable(also hopefully).
